How much sleep is enough

How many hours of sleep are enough to get you to sleep and then function normally? Some will argue that eight hours is sufficient, others will confidently say that eight is needed, and some will say that it depends from person to person. What is the true truth and how much does a person need to sleep?

The truth is somewhere in between, and many studies have concluded that the amount of sleep depends on what age it is, so the same theory cannot be true when it comes to a small baby, teenager, or adult.

Years of life are the key and the landmark to follow when trying to determine how long it takes a man to accumulate hours of sleep and later to complete all his daily duties.


It needs to start from the beginning. Based on several different studies, it has been established that infants from birth to three months of age should sleep for a minimum of 14 hours and a maximum of 17 hours. The next stage is when the babies are already four months old and do not need that many hours anymore, they are recommended for at least 12 and at most 15 hours of sleep, and so on until they are one year old.

When your child is one year old, they should sleep between 11am and 2pm, and slightly older children between the ages of three and five should be rested with slightly less hours of sleep, which is between 10am and 1pm.

Children should sleep between 9am and 11am before leaving school until they are 13 years old. Once they start getting out and having more appointments, it is advisable to sleep between 8am and 10am.


Students are offered between 8 and 9 hours as well as anyone who covers the category between 24 and 65 years of age. It is important for a person to sleep in order not to endanger their health and accumulate too much stress, which will later have to contend with the disease.

It's still true that some people can function normally if they only sleep for 5 or 6 hours, but that doesn't mean it won't affect their health at one point.

It's not the only health to be reckoned with. If you do not sleep enough, it will affect your face sooner or later, so you won't be able to hide your eyes even with a concealer. You will look older and worn out. Try to collect enough sleep so that they can wake up rested.
