Each of us has neighbors, whether you live in the city, in the countryside, in the house or in a building. Some of your neighbors may already be real friends to you, some you don't experience, and some of you may even be in strife. Which is, it's there, but it's probably clear to everyone that if you have a good relationship with your neighbors, your life can be better. What are the benefits of good neighborly relations?
You are never alone!
If you live alone or have no household members, you cannot deny that it is a nicer feeling to know that the door is to, or a few steps from, the person you can knock on the door whenever you want and it gives you a sense of security!
You can request services
If you are missing a grocery item and don't want to go to the store, or the store is down, you simply knock on your neighbor and ask what you need. Of course, it goes without saying that you will ask a trifle and not all the ingredients for some cake, and that you will know how to return the favor, not just ask.
The same is true if your home appliance breaks down and you cannot buy it right away; there is a neighbor who will lend you your vacuum cleaner, mixer or whatever you need.
If you are traveling, it will keep you safe at home
If you are away for a long time, a neighbor you are good with and trusted will easily watch over your house, take your mail and call you if something you need to know happens. You will also have a sense of security because you know that your neighbor is there at all times, and even that thieves do not have as free access to their home as they would have been without anyone for days and that no one was watching or watching over your house.
They will keep you with pets or children
You have to go somewhere, or go out for a couple of hours, and you have nowhere to go with your children. It is always easier when you don't have to think much, but just ask your neighbor to be with him or her until you return. However, if you are gone for 2.3 days and your problem is a pet that is left alone, then everything is much easier if you can leave it to your neighbor.
It can help you in any emergency
You have forgotten your home key, or you have misplaced it and cannot enter the apartment, the building… Your neighbor will let you into your apartment, or just open the door to your building. It is certainly more comfortable to know that you have where to be until the situation is resolved than to despair on the street.
These are just some of the reasons why it is good to be a “good neighbor”. It does not mean to be a good neighbor just to ask for the services, but to do all of the above and to give your neighbor, because it does not say in vain what "my hand is".
So if you aren't already, start greeting the people who live around you, talk to them when you're in a situation, and don't always be nervous and inaccessible. They all have their problems, so if you can make it easier for each other at least in some small things, why not?
