What foods protect you from breast cancer

Unfortunately, breast cancer is a disease that is affecting more and more women, which is why it is of the utmost importance to be examined at home, go for regular check-ups and live healthy. Doctors around the world agreed that early detection of cancer provides a greater chance of complete recovery in most patients.

Today, there is more and more talk about prevention, and it is good to know how it can be achieved thanks to certain foods.

Breast cancer is a disease that occurs as a result of several factors such as genetic predisposition and environmental factors. Improper selection of foods that are part of your daily diet can lead to an increased risk of breast cancer.

Although scientists could not completely agree on the choice of foods that help cancer, they agreed that harmful radicals are the ones that lead to the destruction of DNA and thus help to create cancerous cells.

Allies to help you defend yourself against free radicals can be found in antioxidants that help eliminate harmful substances from the body, protecting healthy cells. Among the more known antioxidants, β-carotene is reported. It can be found in carrots, apricots, spinach and kale.

In addition to β-carotene, you should not forget about vitamins C and E. Vitamin C is found in tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, kiwi, yellow pepper and potatoes. Vitamin E is found in eggs, oil, peanut butter and nuts and seeds.

If you want to avoid breast cancer, try to enrich your diet with oily fish that has omega-3 fatty acids. These are mackerel, salmon, anchovies and herring. Reduce the intake of omega-6 fatty acids found in margarine and saturated fats of animal origin.

Do you like to drink green tea? The polyphenols found in the tea itself have been shown to have antioxidant properties. Apart from green tea, you will not go wrong if you opt for garlic and onions, such as onions and leeks.
